Christendom College

-Front Royal, VA

Christendom College is served by an 25,000 gpd onsite wastewater treatment system that discharges treated effluent to the Shenandoah River.  Deficiencies in the coarse bubble aeration system and the clarifier were causing poor performance and discharge permit violations.  IES designed and constructed improvements to package plant that was installed in the 1980s. Improvements included more efficient, fine-bubble aeration diffusers, clarifier upgrade, repairs to the steel tank, new sacrificial anodes, and structural reinforcement.  An under-sink grease skimmer was also added in the kitchen to improve oil and grease removal.
