Sunny View Village

The Island County Housing Authority in Washington State required a Large Onsite Sewage System (LOSS) for a new low-income housing development. In partnership with 2020 Engineering, Aqua Nova designed an innovative wastewater treatment system that was contained within a large, buried HDPE tank. The System uses a four-stage MBBR (moving bed biofilm reactor) that provides nitrogen removal to protect groundwater from nitrate increases. Effluent is filtered and pumped to drip disposal zones located on several areas of the property. The system was commissioned in 2015 and has been effectively processing a steady stream of high-strength residential sewage since then.
